The Circle Trilogy - Nora Roberts
Okay, this is obviously not the intellectually stimulating “oh my God”, kind of book. But if you’re a Nora Roberts fan or even a vampire (come bite me) fan then please, oh please go read the trilogy. Even if you aren’t – take a shot.
The trilogy is absolute fantasy, where the author, well known for her books on magicks, warlords, etc. writes about the inception of the vampyre (as she calls it) and the battle that ensues to conquer evil.
6 individuals, a witch, a warlord, a scholar, a warrior, a slayer and a reformed vampire are brought together by the Goddess Morrigan to conquer the evil that runs rampant in the modern day world and in the fantasy city, Geall.
Time travel, shape shifting and flying dragons complete the story as the 6 embark on a journey which climaxes in Geall and traces the lives of the individuals who have been brought together against their will and the upheavals that they are faced with along the way. The author keeps the stories light, and romance and fantasy run freely along with sword clashing and blood draining.
It’s funny, scary (if you have a vivid imagination that is), and just the right story to curl up to over a weekend. So here’s to Nora!
